There will be plenty of tables and seating for all who attend. They will supply bottled water and coffee. DESCRIPTION:National Museum of World War II Aviation Visit \n \nWhen: July 16\, 2022 9am \nWhere: National Museum of World War II Aviation\, Colorado Springs\, CO \nCost: $17.00 for adults and $15.00 for seniors Guided tour an additional $5.00 \nHost: Andy Mortenson \n  \nThe National Museum of World War II Aviation in Colorado Springs documents the role that military aviation played in the emergence of our nation as a world power during the Second World War. Through a combination of its aircraft collection and other exhibits\, the museum tells the story of our nation’s tremendous technological advancements during the war that were essential to the success of the Allied war effort. \n  \nThe museum displays a wide array of fully restored aircraft that represent all aspects of America’s involvement in World War II. Most of the aircraft are meticulously restored to flying condition\, and many are flown at air shows. (For those who shared our visit to the museum back in 2019\, the new hangar has since been completed and many aircraft that were in storage are now on display.) The visit also includes the WestPac Restorations facility which is adjacent to the museum. \n \nWestPac Restorations is a premier World War II aircraft restoration and maintenance facility. WestPac is a highly specialized FAA-certified repair station that includes paint facilities\, a prop shop\, and a full service metal forming shop. WestPac has been closely affiliated with the museum since its inception\, and allows public access to its facility through the museum’s docent-led tour program. \nWe plan to take the10:30 AM tour which includes WestPac Restorations. We’ll meet at Cabela’s sporting goods located on the southwest side of the intersection of I-25 and Ridgegate Parkway in Lone Tree. We’ll leave at 9:00 AM and convoy down to the museum which is located on the south side of Colorado Springs. Please note that there is an admission fee of $17.00 for adults and $15.00 for seniors. The guided tour costs an additional $5.00. While the tour isn’t required\, it’s highly recommended. \n  \nAs an optional extension to the museum visit for us aviation junkies\, lunch will be available at “The Airplane” restaurant adjacent to the Radisson Hotel which is near the museum. The restaurant is built in and around a 1950’s era Air Force KC-97 Stratotanker airplane like the one flown by ZCCC member Steve Robertson. \n  \nContact Andy Mortenson if you have any questions.

Hampden Avenue\, Aurora\, CO\, 80013 \nHost: The McKenney’s \n  \nJoin us at Sonic Drive in in Aurora for the Friday Evening Car Show.  There are cars of every variety at the show from imports to classic to American muscle.  We will be arriving early to reserve spots for the Club members and guests to park together.  Please feel free to bring a picnic dinner or there are several restaurants at the shopping center where you can get something to eat. The show runs from late afternoon to after sundown and goes on rain or shine.  There is no time limit for cars to stay at the show so you may come and go as you please.  We hope you will join us for an evening of looking at cars and enjoying a nice summer evening! \n

Bring a chair and/or a blanket to make sure you are comfy while you enjoy great music by Ron Ivory. He performs everything from Rock n’ Roll to Motown and Classic Soul. You can pack a picnic dinner or purchase food from the food trucks. Food trucks at the event are Cruz In & Eat (Mexican food) and HipPop’s (Gelato and Sorbet). \n  \nThe concert starts at 5\, so if you want to get there a little early to set up your chair(s) and blanket\, that is fine. There is no parking lot\, just street parking along the park. Since we are outside\, we highly recommend sunscreen and bug spray. We hope to Z you there for some great music.
