DESCRIPTION:CANCELLED – AUTOCROSS 2024\nDue to unforeseen circumstances\, the 2024 ZCCC Autocross event that was scheduled for this Saturday (6/22)\, has been CANCELLED. Please keep an eye out for future opportunities and check out our website for other upcoming events. We apologize for the inconvenience \n \n \nWhen: Saturday\, June 22th 8am-Noon \nWhere: 23600 East 128th Avenue \nCost: $20.00 for each member and $30.00 for non-members \nHost: Andy Mortenson \n  \nFor those of you who are unfamiliar with autocross\, it is a timed competition held on flat\,\npaved surfaces with few obstructions such as parking lots or airport tarmacs in which\ndrivers navigate one at a time through a defined course marked by rubber traffic cones.\nAutocross courses place the demands on car handling and driver skill rather than on\nengine power and outright speed. It emphasizes safe competition and active\nparticipation. It’s one of the easiest motorsports to get involved in at an amateur level.\nThe speeds are typically less than those encountered in legal highway driving\, but the\ncombination of concentration and precision maneuvering gives drivers an experience\nsimilar to that of a full road course race. \nSome of you will remember the autocross event we held at the Adams County Sheriff’s\nDepartment Training Center in Commerce City last summer and how much fun we had.\nWell\, we’ve scheduled another autocross for the morning of Saturday\, June 22nd. The\nevent will again be held at the Sheriff’s Department Training Center. The facility is\nlocated at 23600 East 128 th  Avenue which is about 5 miles east of Barr Lake.\nWe’ll be using their nice smooth 3 ¼ acre skill pad for our autocross. We have rented\nthe pad for four hours\, from 8:00 AM until Noon. It always takes some time to set up the\ncourse. Since the facility opens at 7:30\, it would be helpful if participants tried to come a\nlittle early to lend a hand with the set up. \nWe’re going to limit participation to the first 25 cars to register because we’d like to\nguarantee each car a minimum of three timed runs through the course during that time.\nThere will be a charge of $20.00 for each member and $30.00 for non-members. Please\nbring cash or a check payable to ZCCC because credit cards can’t be accepted.\nHelmets will be required and the Training Center requires that a release form be signed\nby each participant. The center is in a treeless area and there is no shade so bring sun\nprotection and drinking water. There are bathroom facilities within easy walking\ndistance. So save the date and come on out and watch the fun even if you don’t plan to\nparticipate. If there’s insufficient participation from ZCCC members\, the autocross will\nbe open to the public to help defray costs. \nPlease advise Andy Mortenson if you’re interested in participating in this event or if you\nhave any questions.

Spectators pay $10.00 per person at the\nentrance gate. Registration cut-off date to get into the program is May 5\, 2024 and the last day for online registration for the event is May 10\, 2024. Registrations on the day of the event may be accommodated but it is space permitted and it is between 7:00 am to 8:00 am and these vehicles will not allowed be Club judged. The deadline\nfor Club judging is May 17\, 2024. Entrants will receive complete information and instructions no later than May 29\nand are encouraged to arrive at the site between 6:30 and 8:00 am\, or meet at 7:00 am to drive in as a group. Trailer parking will be available. \n  \nWe will be meeting at Aspen Grove Shopping Center a couple of miles south of the college at 7 am. Andy Mortenson will lead the group to the college at 7:30 am. Please have your paper work available to be viewed by check-in personnel at the college and you will be directed to the parking area. This is also a great way to show support for our club sponsor.  So shine up your car and join us for a fun afternoon! \n  \nThe Board has decided to rebate $20 to members of the club who show their car at the Concours DeElegance and two other car shows. The Board is hoping to increase attendance at car shows in support of our vendors and sponsors. In order to qualify for the $20 members must show their car at the Concours and two other qualifying car shows. Our Vice President Mike Rhyne will be tracking who has shown their cars. Then at the annual banquet members who have meet the requirements will receive the rebate. This a great time to give a gift to young children at the Children’s Hospital. You will bring so many smiles to the faces of those kids. In fact\, the kids know we are coming and will be watching all of the cars from their windows. \n  \nWe will be meeting at the King Soopers on Colfax and Chambers at 10am. While there\, we will load the toys into a few vehicles and head over to the hospital. Once at the hospital\, we will line up for a short parade lap around the hospital ending in the front where the vehicle(s) with the toys will drop them off to awaiting hospital staff.

DESCRIPTION:Colorado Concours d’Elegance \n \nDate: Sunday\, September 10\, 2023 \nShow Time: 9 AM – 3 PM (earlier if you are showing your car…please see staging info below) \nWhere: Arapahoe Community College-5900 S. Santa Fe Dr.\, Littleton\, CO 80120 \nStaging time and location for ZCCC Members: 7 am at Aspen Grove Shopping Center \nCost: $50 to show car and $10/person to spectate \nZCCC Host: Roy Davis \n  \nThe Colorado Concours d’Elegance announced the rescheduled date for their 40th Annual Colorado Concours. It will be on Sunday\, September 10th! \n  \nWe will meet at the Aspen Grove Shopping Center at 7:00am and proceed to the Arapahoe Community College the concours location at 7:30am. We will be lead to the concours site by the one and only Bruce McKenney. Cars will be staged just to the right (south) of the entrance sidewalk where over flow and American cars were staged previously as construction has prevented use of our usual location in the northwest corner of the show field. \n  \nThe theme for the 2023 Colorado Concours event will be “The Evolution of the Automobile”; and the plan is to display a broad variety of automobiles beginning with an early Ford Model T\, and other antiques of that period. There will be 8 to 10 cars of various makes and models for each decade\, e.g.\, 1900-1919\, 1920-1929\, 1930-1939\, etc. through 1999\, with a total of 80 to 90 cars. The ‘Evolution’ cars will be in addition to the customary display of 350 sports cars. \nThe 2022 Colorado Concours event featured 350 entrants and raised over $75\,000 for the charity. There will be a $50.00 entrant fee per car\, which includes 2 entry passes. Spectators pay $10.00 per person at the entrance gate. Registrations on the day of the event cannot be accommodated. Reservation will be accepted on a first come\, first served basis until a decade group is filled. Entrants will receive complete information and instructions and are encouraged to arrive at the site between 6:30 and 8:00 am. Trailer parking will be available\, and the Evolution entrants will not be judged. \nWe have been told that your event packet(s) from the previous date will work with the new date. Just hang on to the original event packets and bring them with you to the event. If you have any questions or have not yet received your packet\, please contact Terri at Colorado Concours d’Elegance and she will get another one mailed to you in mid-August. Terri’s email is mailto:tarmstrong@abilityconnectioncolorado.org. \nIf you were interested in having your car judged\, either by your club or by the Elite judges\, and DID NOT make the original cutoff date\, Terri will work with you on switching your entry category. \nThey have re-opened online registration for both the REGULAR entries and the EVOLUTION display entries for new registrations. \nNote the new deadlines are as follows: \n          August 11th to sign up to be JUDGED \n          August 23rd to sign up online and have your packet mailed out \n          After August 23rd\, all new registrations will have to sign up at the event on Sunday\, 9/10 at the red registration tent. \nWe know that many of our members were so disappointed that the event was cancelled\, due to weather. We are crossing our fingers for great weather\, as this event is for a great cause.

Mississippi Avenue\, Aurora\, CO \nDate: Saturday\, September 9th \nTime: 9am-1pm \nCost: Free \nZCCC Host: Andy Mortenson \n  \nMississippi Avenue Baptist Church (now called The Avenue Church) will be having their 9th annual car show on Saturday\, September 9th. There will be a free breakfast and car show starting at 9:00 AM and lasting until 1:00 PM. Awards will be given for the best vehicles in the following categories: American\, muscle and foreign cars as well as truck and motorcycle. The church is located at 13231 E. Mississippi Avenue in Aurora\, two blocks west of I-225. So\, stop by for breakfast and show off your car. It’s a family fun event so bring everyone.
