Car\nowners can be available to discuss their vehicles. In the parking lot\, car owners may set up folding chairs\nby their vehicles. The public is invited to walk around and view all the cars both outside and inside in the\nshowroom where there are about 200 cars mostly for sale. Coffee and pastries will be available for all.\nThere also may be food trucks . Gateway employees will be available to discuss their operation and the\ncars in the showroom. Gateway Classic Cars Staff Member Devin deSimone will be our contact to\ncoordinate the August 31 Event. \nThe Gateway Classic Cars facility is most easily accessed by taking E-470 Peoria exit (Exit 2)\, proceeding\nnorth on Peoria to Compark Blvd. where you turn right and head East toward American Furniture\nWearhouse. Turn left on Highfield Pkwy. Proceed North to the facility at the intersection on Grassfield\nDrive. The facility can also be accessed from the North . Take Potomac St. off Arapahoe Rd. As you\nproceed South Potomac turns into Chambers Rd\, that will the intersect Grasslands Dr. Turn right and\nproceed West to the facility. The address appears on the West face of the building. There is also\nprobably a way to get there from Parker Rd. The main entrance is in the North side of the Building \, but\nthis event is in the parking lot on the south side. DESCRIPTION:Host: Andy Mortenson\nDate: Saturday\, July 27th\nLocation: Del Taco restaurant at 8100 Northfield Blvd. \nTime: 9:30 AM \nDedicated to the legacy of Carroll Shelby and the Shelby American Team\, the Shelby American\nCollection celebrates the rich heritage of the world’s most famous racing cars. From Shelby’s\nBritish AC predecessor and the 289 and 427 race and street Cobras\, to the rare Daytona and\nWillment Coupes\, to the revolutionary Ford GT40 and the GT350 Shelby Mustangs\, the Shelby\nAmerican Collection has some of the rarest\, most valuable and authentic cars on display\nanywhere in the world. The museum is also home to an extensive collection of memorabilia\, art\,\nrace records\, period photographs and tributes to the pioneer drivers of the era\, and the dramatic\nhistories and life stories of Carroll Shelby\, Enzo Ferrari\, Henry Ford and other icons of 1960s\nauto design\, industry and racing lore. \nWe last visited the Shelby Collection in 2018. Cars are removed and added periodically so there\nwill have been some changes to those on display. One addition is the GT40 driven by Ken Miles\nto a controversial second place finish in the 1966 Le Mans race which should be familiar to\nanyone who saw the movie\, “Ford vs Ferrari”. \nWe plan to meet on Saturday\, July 27 th \, at 9:30AM in the parking lot of the Del Taco restaurant\nat 8100 Northfield Blvd.\, which is located just north of the Super Target store at Northfield.\nWe’ll convoy from there and anticipate arriving at the Shelby Collection soon after it opens.\nThe Shelby American Collection is located at 5020 Chaparral Court in Boulder. They’re open\nfrom 10:00AM to 4:00PM on Saturdays and there is a $5.00 admission fee for adults.

DESCRIPTION:CANCELLED – AUTOCROSS 2024\nDue to unforeseen circumstances\, the 2024 ZCCC Autocross event that was scheduled for this Saturday (6/22)\, has been CANCELLED. We apologize for the inconvenience \n \n \nWhen: Saturday\, June 22th 8am-Noon \nWhere: 23600 East 128th Avenue \nCost: $20.00 for each member and $30.00 for non-members \nHost: Andy Mortenson \n  \nFor those of you who are unfamiliar with autocross\, it is a timed competition held on flat\,\npaved surfaces with few obstructions such as parking lots or airport tarmacs in which\ndrivers navigate one at a time through a defined course marked by rubber traffic cones.\nAutocross courses place the demands on car handling and driver skill rather than on\nengine power and outright speed. It emphasizes safe competition and active\nparticipation. It’s one of the easiest motorsports to get involved in at an amateur level.\nThe speeds are typically less than those encountered in legal highway driving\, but the\ncombination of concentration and precision maneuvering gives drivers an experience\nsimilar to that of a full road course race. \nSome of you will remember the autocross event we held at the Adams County Sheriff’s\nDepartment Training Center in Commerce City last summer and how much fun we had.\nWell\, we’ve scheduled another autocross for the morning of Saturday\, June 22nd. The\nevent will again be held at the Sheriff’s Department Training Center. The facility is\nlocated at 23600 East 128 th  Avenue which is about 5 miles east of Barr Lake.\nWe’ll be using their nice smooth 3 ¼ acre skill pad for our autocross. We have rented\nthe pad for four hours\, from 8:00 AM until Noon. It always takes some time to set up the\ncourse. Since the facility opens at 7:30\, it would be helpful if participants tried to come a\nlittle early to lend a hand with the set up. \nWe’re going to limit participation to the first 25 cars to register because we’d like to\nguarantee each car a minimum of three timed runs through the course during that time.\nThere will be a charge of $20.00 for each member and $30.00 for non-members. Please\nbring cash or a check payable to ZCCC because credit cards can’t be accepted.\nHelmets will be required and the Training Center requires that a release form be signed\nby each participant. The center is in a treeless area and there is no shade so bring sun\nprotection and drinking water. There are bathroom facilities within easy walking\ndistance. So save the date and come on out and watch the fun even if you don’t plan to\nparticipate. If there’s insufficient participation from ZCCC members\, the autocross will\nbe open to the public to help defray costs. \nPlease advise Andy Mortenson if you’re interested in participating in this event or if you\nhave any questions.

He has also invited us to a FREE BBQ lunch at the facility after\nthe car collection visit. \nWe will meet at The Embassy Suites by Hilton 4444 N. Havana Street Denver\, CO 80239. It is\noff I-70 at the Havana exit. On the right as you exit the highway. For all members living south\,\nplease be at the Embassy Suites by 8:30 A.M. We need to be on the road by 8:45 A.M. Spectators pay $10.00 per person at the\nentrance gate. Registration cut-off date to get into the program is May 5\, 2024 and the last day for online registration for the event is May 10\, 2024. Registrations on the day of the event may be accommodated but it is space permitted and it is between 7:00 am to 8:00 am and these vehicles will not allowed be Club judged. The deadline\nfor Club judging is May 17\, 2024. Entrants will receive complete information and instructions no later than May 29\nand are encouraged to arrive at the site between 6:30 and 8:00 am\, or meet at 7:00 am to drive in as a group. Trailer parking will be available. \n  \nWe will be meeting at Aspen Grove Shopping Center a couple of miles south of the college at 7 am. Andy Mortenson will lead the group to the college at 7:30 am. Please have your paper work available to be viewed by check-in personnel at the college and you will be directed to the parking area. Someone will be in the club parking area to\nshow you where and how to park. Please pay attention to dates for registration as they will not change. \n  \nRibbons will be awarded . Judging will be by car version S30 (1970-1978)\, S130 (1979-1983)\, Z31 (1984-1989)\, Z32\n(1990-1996)\, Z33 (2002-2007)\, Z34 (2009-2018)\, and RZ34 (2020-Present). Volunteers needed to park cars for display and judging.

The Board is hoping to increase attendance at car shows in support of our vendors and sponsors. In order to qualify for the $20 members must show their car at the Concours and two other qualifying car shows. Our Vice President Mike Rhyne will be tracking who has shown their cars. Then at the annual banquet members who have meet the requirements will receive the rebate. DESCRIPTION:Date: December 10\, 2023 \nTime: 10 am-12 \nWhere: Meeting at the King Soopers at Colfax and Chambers (15109 E Colfax Ave\, Aurora\, CO 80011) \nHost: Robert Eagon \nPLEASE CONSIDER BRINGING AT LEAST ONE GIFT PER ZCCC MEMBER TO SHARE THE LOVE TO THESE KIDS THIS HOLIDAY SEASON. THEY NEED SOME JOY IN THEIR LIVES. ❤️\n  \nZCCC will be teaming up with the VQ club to donate gifts to children in need over the holiday season. The gifts need to be brand new and unwrapped. This a great time to give a gift to young children at the Children’s Hospital. You will bring so many smiles to the faces of those kids. In fact\, the kids know we are coming and will be watching all of the cars from their windows. \n  \nWe will be meeting at the King Soopers on Colfax and Chambers at 10am. While there\, we will load the toys into a few vehicles and head over to the hospital. Once at the hospital\, we will line up for a short parade lap around the hospital ending in the front where the vehicle(s) with the toys will drop them off to awaiting hospital staff.
