DESCRIPTION:The Avenue Church (formerly called Mississippi Avenue Baptist Church) will be having their 12th annual car show on Saturday\, September 12th. There will be a free breakfast and car show starting at 8:30 AM and lasting until 12:00 PM. Awards will be given for the best vehicles in the following categories: Vintage (pre-1980)\, Classic (1980+) and foreign cars as well as truck and motorcycle. The church is located at 13231 E. Mississippi Avenue in Aurora\, two blocks west of I-225. So\, stop by for breakfast and show off your car. DESCRIPTION:FOOD DRIVE \n\nWhen: Saturday\, December 12\, 2026 \nWhere:  Derman’s home \nTime:   6:00 PM \nCo-Host:   Mark Ingles \nZCCC Points: 1 point for donating (nonperishables or monetary donation) \n\n\nInfo: Because of my home’s location\, my holiday light display (another Z event related to that) can be seen from every direction—even flights into Colorado Springs! Wanting to give back\, I partnered with Care & Share Food Bank in 2014. That first year\, I collected 115 pounds of food in an Igloo cooler. By 2017\, thanks to a donated chest freezer\, I could collect much more\, and donations have grown every year—reaching over 7\,300 equivalent pounds of food in 2025 with the help from ZCCC Members at last year’s Holiday Party!\nThis year\, I’m pulling out all the stops and have set a goal of 10\,000 pounds!!!  With your help again this year at our holiday party I’m hoping to make that goal. So\, please bring to the party as much nonperishable food as you can fit in your car to support this amazing organization (bottled water allowed\, too) and/or you can also bring cash or check that I will use to go towards the overall food donations.  If check\, the preferred way would be to make it out to me and I’ll cash it to buy food\, or you can make it out to Care & Share Food Bank and they will put it towards my total food donations count.\nAdditionally\, in 2021\, I also partnered with Springs Rescue Mission by adding a secure donation box in the midst of my display for people to drop off cash or checks . The awesome work of the Mission provides shelter and helps people rebuild their lives. Last year\, donations exceeded $1\,400\, and I’m proud to continue supporting their vital work. Please consider a monetary donation to this great organization if you’d prefer\, or in addition to the Food Bank support. Checks can be made out to the Springs Rescue Mission.
