SUMMARY:Z Drive and Donation to Children’s Hospital Colorado
DESCRIPTION:The 11th Annual Bad Does Good Car Show and Toy Drive has been postponed. The Corvette club is looking at and hoping to hold it in September.  I don’t think we should let that stop us!  Let’s take a drive to drop off the toys we have been collecting over the past 6 months and enjoy the morning out on the road exploring Boulder and Larimer counties. \nMeeting spot: Furniture Row parking lot \nWish list details:  Here is the link to Children’s Hospital Wish Lists.  We will be dropping our donations at the North Campus (see page 5). \nFrom here we will head west to Boulder County and North to Laporte exploring the    country roads for a ~2.5 hr. drive.  At any time you feel you need to turn and head toward home there are lots of options by heading east to one of the following towns; Longmont\, Berthoud\, Loveland or Fort Collins. \nBrighton to Laporte 77.4 miles\nLaporte to Boulder 64.1 miles \nThe drive is less then a ½ day and social distancing guidelines in place\, stopping for food may not be an option.  Please bring drink\, snacks and radios so we can communicate. SUMMARY:ZCCC Bike Ride
DESCRIPTION:I haven’t been able to provide any details on the June bike ride because of the uncertainties surrounding the corona virus. Normally\, the ride would include lunch at a restaurant to make it more sociable. Recently\, I went on a ride with Patty Troxell in and around Cherry Creek State Park. We were able to maintain social distancing during the ride and having a sandwich at one of the picnic tables by the lake. I think this would work for the club ride as well. I don’t know what restaurants will be opened in June\, but I don’t think I’m going to be eating in one any time soon. So the plan is for everyone to bring a snack or a sandwich for a picnic lunch instead. Also\, please bring a face mask or a bandana you can use to cover your nose and mouth. \nWe’ll meet on Saturday\, June 27th at 9:30 AM in the parking lot of the Denver Mattress/Furniture Row store located at the intersection of Parker Road and Quincy Ave in Aurora. The lot is located on north east corner of the intersection across from the Sinclair gas station. We’ll take a ride in and around Cherry Creek State Park similar to the one I took with Patty. We’ll stop for a picnic lunch by the lake midway through the ride and then return to the parking lot. This will be an easy ride of about 18 miles in length. Please contact Andy Mortenson if you have any questions.

SUMMARY:Zunday Mystery Drive #3
DESCRIPTION:I have planned out 3 Zunday Mystery Drives for 3 Zundays in Zeptember.  They range in length from 2 ½ hours and 85 miles long to 3 ½ hours and 130 miles long.  Each day of the drive\, we will meet at the Dinosaur Ridge Main Visitor Center at 8:00 a.m.  The visitor’s center is on the west side of C-470 at Alameda Pkwy.  \nOn the day of the first drive\, Zeptember 15\, one lucky participant will get to choose from door #1\, #2 or #3.  That choice will determine which drive we do that day.  On Zeptember 22\, another lucky participant will get to choose one door from the 2 doors left and that will be the drive we do that day.  On Zeptember 29\, we will do the 3rd drive.  After each drive is chosen\, I will hand out maps of the route for the day.  As the drives are all a ½ day or less\, stopping for food will be optional and we’ll play that by ear.  Please bring radios so we can all communicate.  The weather may dictate what vehicle you decide to drive but we will go rain or shine unless there is a major catastrophic weather event.   \nFor additional info and/or to let me know if you are going\, please contact me at president@zccc.org  or at the number listed in the Odometer.

SUMMARY:National Museum of World War II Aviation Tour
DESCRIPTION:The National Museum of World War II Aviation in Colorado Springs documents the role that military aviation played in the emergence of our nation as a world power during the Second World War. Through a combination of its aircraft collection\, exhibits\, interactive displays\, and docent led tours\, the museum tells the story of our nation’s tremendous technological advancements during the war\, and describes the lasting social and economic changes that were essential to the success of the Allied war effort. \nThrough close relationships with collectors around the country\, the museum displays a wide array of fully restored aircraft that represent all aspects of America’s involvement in World War II. Most of the aircraft are meticulously restored to flying condition\, and many are flown at the museum on public demonstration days. The tour will include a visit to the WestPac Restorations facility which is adjacent to the museum. \nWestPac Restorations\, a premier World War II aircraft restoration and maintenance facility\, is located on the north side of the museum campus. Housed in a state-of-the-art 65\,000 square foot facility\, WestPac Restorations is a highly specialized FAA-certified repair station that includes paint facilities\, a prop shop\, and a full service metal forming shop. WestPac has been closely affiliated with the museum since its inception\, and allows public access to its facility through the museum’s docent-led tour program. \nWe are scheduled for the 12:00 noon tour which includes WestPac Restorations. We’ll meet at Cabela’s sporting goods located on the southwest side of the intersection of\nI-25 and Ridgegate Parkway in Lone Tree. We’ll leave at 10:00 AM and convoy down to the museum which is located on the south side of Colorado Springs. Please note that there is an admission fee of $14.00 for adults and $12.00 for seniors. Contact Andy Mortenson if you have any questions.
