An hour drive east of the metro area is the all new High Plains Raceway.

From Denver, go east on I-70 to exit number 316, the Byers exit. It is highly recommended that you fill your fuel tank in Byers. Go east from Byers on Highway 36 for 17 miles.
The gates will open at 6:00 AM and the driver's meeting is at 8:30 AM.

Track Information

High Plains Raceway has been in planning and development for a long time.
The track is two and a half miles long, has 15 turns and the elevation changes 70 feet.
There are four classes from novice to expert. Driving tips from experienced club members help beginners advance quickly and enhance the experience.

Basic safety requirements to participate

• Protective clothing

  • Snell 2000 or newer (M or SA) helmet

  • long cotton pants

  • long sleeve cotton shirt while on track

  • shoes of natural or non-combustible material

• Drivers must abide by all safety rules All drivers must attend the driver's meeting before the event

• All vehicles must pass technical inspection

• No open exhausts are allowed

You may download the "Tech Inspection Form" to ensure your car will be ready for the track.
There is a $10.00 fee to inspect cars at the track on the day of the event. Watch the Odometer newsletter for details on pre-event tech inspection.

Other general information for the event

Since the property is still under construction, there is limited access to potable water. It is recommended that you bring drinking water with you. There is also limited electricity.
There will be a concession stand at the track. Those of you who remember "MO" from Second Creek Raceway will be glad to know he is back. His opening time is 8:00 AM.

Volunteers are always welcome to work at the corner stations. Anyone under the age of 16 will require an adult to be present.

Additional Help

People are always needed for corner working, pit management, registration and other duties. Come on out and volunteer for one of these spots. No experience is needed and you'll have a great time.
